About the Author
This book is a revision of an earlier edition with the three original authors: Arnold P. Goldstein (1933-2002), Barry Glick and John C. Gibbs.Arnold P. Goldstein, Ph.D. (1933-2002), was Professor of Psychology and Education at Syracuse University as well as Founder and Director of the Syracuse University Center for Research on Aggression. He authored over 60 books and more than 100 articles on aggression, prosocial skills training, and juvenile delinquency. He also served as Director of the New York State Task Force on Juvenile Gangs. Dr. Goldstein received many prestigious awards including the Career Achievement Award from the American Psychological Association's Commitee on Children, Youth, and Families; and the Senior Scientist Award from APA's School Psychology Division.Barry Glick, Ph.D., is Chief Operating Officer of G&G Consultants, LLC, a national consulting firm to juvenile and adult correctional systems. Working in both private child-care agencies and in state government, he has held positions as child-care worker, psychologist, and administrator. Dr. Glick has devoted his professional career to the development of policies, programs, and services for adolescents. His specialization is in juvenile delinquency and adolescents with emotional disturbances.John C. Gibbs, Ph.D., is Professor of Developmental Psychology at The Ohio State University, Columbus. He has been a member of the State of Ohio Governor's Council on Juvenile Justice and a faculty associate at The Ohio State University Criminal Justice Research Center. Dr. Gibbs also served as a member of the Social Cognitive Training Study Group of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Violence Prevention Division). His work has centered on developmental theory, assessment of social cognition and moral judgement development, and interventions with conduct-disordered adolescents.

This is an awesome tool to use with children and adolescents. If you have a child with ADHD, ODD, anger management issues, or they just have some social issues, this book amazing to use with the kids. Also love that CD-ROM that comes with it because it has all the handouts you need.
Interesting. Unable to use because I am not a professional therapist, but CBT is the way to go with adolescents.
This came quickly and was a welcomed addition to my library. I've worked with challenging kids for 7 years an am always looking for ways to help them reduce violent behaviors. This is a great tool to help with my new position. Making it to a training is hard so being able to go through this helps. I still would love to be apart of a training on this subject.

Great for school psychologists, therapists, psychologists, teachers and anyone who works with adolescents.Love that this program is researched based.
I like this book, I ordered it as a supplement to the materials I was given at an Aggression Replacement Training, I was originally going to run ART groups with Middle School students, however it didn't work out and I am not running a modified version of ART for elementary students. It has all the material you will need and the DVD is awesome to print material you might need. Overall good book!
If you work with adolescents with behavioral disorders, Barry Glick is the go - to author. This book is focused mainly on day treatment programs, but many of the principles can extended to other applications.
ART is a must to have in both inpatient, residential and outpatient services. It is able to be used with children (10+) adolescents and adults in both MH and CD treatment. It works well with in juvenile justice and prisons, MRT, ACT, MET, TCBT, and Collaborating Problem Solving application. If you don't have it in your treatment library then you need to get it.
