I bought this book for my kids and nephew as Christmas gifts. My son who all but hates to read pulled this book from his shelf in his room at first because he noticed his sister had the same book. Later he brought it to me and we sat and read it where he asked questions about the meaning of words, noticed similarities in the characters, even tried reading with me. The next day right before bed I caught him flipping through the pages on his own. I can’t tell you how thrilled I am for him to start showing interest in reading I guess he just needed a book that was a reflection of him!
This book is absolutely amazing!! I am so glad I was able to find a book for my children that actually shows a reflection of themselves. This book has now become my 4 year olds favorite bed time story. The illustrations are incredible and the book teaches young black and brown little boys and girls that they too can be great! I definitely recommend this book to anyone with children.
